eBlaster FAQ
Will eBlaster work on my PC?
The Program runs on PCs with all versions of Windows Vista™, Windows® XP Home Edition or Professional or Windows 2000 (Service Pack 2). The x64 editions of Windows Vista and Windows XP Professional are NOT currently supported. You read the emails sent by this program on ANY device with Internet-based email software installed or from a web browser. It is also compatible with Macs.
How much disk space does eBlaster take?
Besides the program, which takes about 4 megabytes, it requires minimal storage space to archive each activity report. This is because the activity reports and the recorded email are forwarded to your remote email address. It can be configured NOT to archive the activity reports on the monitored computer and NO additional disk space will be required.
What does eBlaster record?
The program records:
- Both Sides of Chats & IMs
- Web Sites Visited
- Files Uploaded & Downloaded
- Programs Launched
- Inappropriate Words & Phrases
- Detailed MySpace Activity Report
- Online Searches
- Emails Sent & Received
- Every Keystroke Typed
- User Logon/Logoff Activity
- Documents Printed & Copied
In addition, it will automatically forward you a copy of every email, chat, instant message and email the moment it is sent or received.
How often does eBlaster send reports?
The program can send reports as frequently as once every 30 minutes. We suggest sending reports at the default frequency of once every 60 minutes. However, after you are familiar with the program, we would suggest sending reports less frequently. Many people choose to have the reports sent once a day, so that you get a lot of information in one report.
I want to receive reports ONLY while I am at work and the kids are home from school. Can this program do that?
Yes. It is very flexible and allows you to specify the times during which to record and send, as well as the days of the week you want to receive reports.
For example, for Monday through Friday, you might tell the program to send reports between the hours of 2:00 PM and 6:00 PM, while you have it send no reports on weekends.
I use a Macintosh computer at work, but the kids use a Windows computer at home. Can I receive the reports at work on the Mac?
Yes, because eBlaster sends its reports via e-mail, you can read the reports from ANY computer that can read email.
I already have Spector Pro. Why do I need eBlaster?
Thank you for purchasing Spector Pro. Spector Pro is ideal for recording detailed activity and viewing that information at a later time from the same computer.
This program is for those who spend a lot of time away from the computer that does the recording, or for those who do not have frequent access to that computer. For example, with Spector Pro, a parent who travels frequently for business has to wait until they get home to see what their children were doing. With eBlaster, the parent can see what the kids have been up to every time they check email.
Will eBlaster and Spector Pro work together?
Absolutely. In fact, the two programs work together to provide a super Internet monitoring and recording combination. If you already own Spector Pro, you can get our program at a discount. Call us for details.

I am concerned that my children or employees will try to interfere with or disable the operation of eBlaster.
Our program is designed to be as tamper-proof as possible. It does not show up as an icon, does not appear in the Windows system tray, does not appear in Windows Programs, does not show up in the Windows task list, cannot be uninstalled without the password which YOU specify, and it will not slow down the operation of the computer it is recording. eBlaster does not initiate connections to the Internet and will only send activity reports when the monitored computer is already connected to the Internet.
However, you are required by the SpectorSoft license agreement to install this program ONLY on a computer you own and to inform anyone using your computer that monitoring software has been installed. You may also be required by local, state or federal laws to inform anyone who may use your computer that logging software has been installed on your computer.
Can I use activity recorded with eBlaster as evidence in a court of law?
SpectorSoft can not guarantee that you will be able to use the activity recordings in a court of law. A judge determines the admissibility of evidence on a case by case basis. You should assume that the activity recordings would not be permitted as evidence.
So, if eBlaster does not show up anywhere, how do I get into it?
To view the e-mail reports sent to you, you do not have to enter eBlaster. In fact, after installing this program, most people never need to touch that computer again.
However, you can change the Settings remotely (via a web interface) any time you are viewing a report. Simply click a Change Settings link on an Activity Report and login from your computer. There is no need to re-visit the computer where it is installed to change where, when or how often your reports and alerts are sent.
Does eBlaster use Outlook Express or any other e-mail client to send Activity Reports?
No. It has a built-in e-mail client that will automatically send reports without using your normal e-mail program (Microsoft Outlook, Netscape Messenger, etc...).
This means that your email program will not keep a record of the sent reports or forwarded emails.
If the computer being recorded is not connected to the Internet, will eBlaster connect automatically? I'm concerned that it might be too obvious that it's installed.
No it does not automatically connect to the Internet. If a scheduled report is due to be sent, and the computer is not connected to the Internet, eBlaster will delay delivery of the report until it detects an Internet connection has been made.
This is part of the Stealth operation of the program and is designed to avoid possible detection of the program by the user of the computer being recorded.
Will eBlaster work with AOL and AIM?
Yes. It is compatible with AOL and AIM.
Can I purchase eBlaster and download to a CD-R, and then use that CD-R to install on another computer?
Yes, as long as the other computer is owned by you. Please do not install it on a computer you do not own, as you may violate state or local law by monitoring the activities of property that does not belong to you. When your purchase is complete you will be given a download link and serial number. This will allow you to download and install the program from any computer connected to the Internet.
I have seen others charge a monthly fee for the use of this kind of software. Is there a monthly fee associated with eBlaster?
SpectorSoft does NOT charge any monthly fees whatsoever for the use of this program. There is only the one-time price of $99.95 for the use on a single computer.
Please note that the software license for eBlaster allows for one installation per purchase. If you would like to install it on more than one computer, you may click here to add licenses anytime or call our office toll-free at (888) 598-2788 during operating hours and ask for multiple license pricing.

Assuming you have notified us within 72 hours of purchase, if we are unable to resolve the issue within 3 days of you notifying us, we will refund your purchase price in FULL.

What security features does eBlaster have?
The program's inherent Tamper-Proof Technology combined with two additional security features makes it the most secure monitoring and surveillance product on the market today. It's security features include:
Password-Protected Activity Reports
Home, small business, and corporate users alike can guard against the potential of unauthorized individuals intercepting and reading Activity Reports by choosing the program's password-protected WinZip file format.
Communications Transport Layer Security (TLS)
Corporate network administrators will be pleased to learn eBlaster permits secure email transmission on networks using TLS protocol, ensuring Activity Reports can't be intercepted and read.
Tamper-Proof Technology
It does not show up as an icon, does not appear in the Windows system tray, does not appear in Windows Programs, does not show up in the Windows task list, cannot be uninstalled without the eBlaster password YOU specify, and the program does not slow down the operation of the computer it is recording. eBlaster does not initiate connections to the Internet and will only forward email and send activity reports when the monitored computer is already connected to the Internet. All of these features make it extremely difficult for unauthorized users to locate and/or remove eBlaster.
